# Start a Project

There are two ways to begin in Infinite Canvas. Start with an empty canvas when you already have an idea, or explore a finished work when you want to understand how another creator built it.

## Start with a blank canvas

1. On the project page, select **New Project**.
2. Select the project title in the header and give the canvas a recognizable name.
3. Add your first Text, Image, or Video node.

Your canvas is saved automatically, including its nodes, connections, groups, and last viewed position.

## Start from Now Playing on Loova

**Now Playing on Loova** showcases recent work created with Infinite Canvas. It lets you see both the finished result and the process behind it.

Open a work, then choose what you want to do:

| Action                | What happens                                                                                            |
| --------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Watch** | Play the finished work. |
| **View process** | Open its canvas in read-only mode and inspect the nodes, references, and connections used to create it. |
| **Duplicate project** | Create an editable copy in your own workspace. The original project is not changed. |

Use **View process** when you only want to learn how a project was made. Use **Duplicate project** when you want to reuse the structure, prompts, or references as a starting point for your own work.

## Return to your projects

Use the project menu to return to the project page, open another project, or create a new one. You can also delete the current project from this menu.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Deleting a project cannot be undone. Download any images or videos you want to keep before deleting it.
