# Text Nodes

Use Text nodes for any language-based part of the creative process: briefs, story beats, shot lists, generation prompts, and notes.

### Write directly

Double-click an empty Text node or select **Write your own content**. Open the full-screen editor for longer content. Double-click the node title to rename it.

### Generate with an LLM

1. Select the Text node.
2. Enter an instruction.
3. Connect any Text, Image, or Video references you want the model to consider.
4. Choose a language model.
5. Select **Generate**.

The result is written into the Text node, where you can edit it directly. Infinite Canvas checks whether the selected model supports the connected reference types and whether its reference limit has been reached.

### Common uses

* Rewrite a prompt for clarity.
* Analyze the content or visual language of a connected image or video.
* Keep production notes beside the assets they describe.
* Pass text into an Image or Video node as a downstream prompt.
